Rural Schools Collaborative Participates in Upcoming Community Engagement Conference

Conference will be headlined by Ruby Payne.

The Rural Schools Collaborative will be making a presentation on the importance of rural school foundations at the upcoming Bright Futures Community Engagement Conference in Joplin, Missouri on Thursday, March 3 at 1:30 p.m. Rural Schools Collaborative (RSC) board member Julie Leeth and RSC director Gary Funk will be leading the presentation.

According to Bright Futures:

"You can join colleagues from across the country at the Bright Futures Community Engagement Conference 2016 held on the beautiful campus of Missouri Southern State University in Joplin, MO. CEC 2016 will be an exciting and informative event with amazing general sessions and over 50 workshops for attendees to choose from. Dave Pelzer, author of A Child Called "It", will present our opening general session keynote address. Dr. Ruby Payne, Ph.D., author of A Framework for Understanding Poverty, will also present a keynote address and a half-day workshop that will help attendees understand class differences and how economic class affects behaviors and mindsets. A poverty simulation will also be offered during the conference.
