Join us for the 2016 Rural Schools Rendezvous, April 8 in Mansfield, Mo.

March 18, 2016

The RSP's annual Rural Schools Rendezvous will be held beginning at 10 a.m. on Friday, April 8 at the Laura Ingalls Wilder Home and Museum, located in Mansfield, Mo.

As usual, the program for the day will include the recognition of this year's Coover Place-Based Education Grant recipients as well as the newest members of the Ozarks Teacher Corps rural education cohort. The Rural Schools Collaborative will also present its first-ever Ozarks round of its Grants in Place program.. This year's featured Rendezvous speaker is Dr. Paul Theobald, Dean of the School of Education and Exerice at Buena Vista University in Storm Lake, Iowa. He'll be speaking on "Rural Literature and Place-Based Pedagogy." More details on the day are in the invitation below.

This is the first year the Rendezvous will be co-hosted between the RSP and the RSC. It's another example of increased cooperation between the programs (this new RSP home page is another). The RSC is a national organization seeking to replicate the RSP's success in developing strong connections between rural schools and the communities they serve. We are happy to be a continuing part of spreading this mission.
