Dr. Tammy La Prad joins RSC as Rural Teacher Corps Fellow for Spring 2025

Dr. Tammy La Prad, Assistant Professor and Co-Chair of Educational Studies at Monmouth College, Illinois Regional Hub Contact, RSC Board Member & Secretary - Monmouth, IL

Rural Schools Collaborative is pleased to welcome Dr. Tammy La Prad for the Spring 2025 semester as our Rural Teacher Corps Fellow!

Dr. La Prad is a current RSC board member and an Illinois Hub lead, serving as the chair of the Ed. Studies Department at Monmouth College in Monmouth, IL. Dr. La Prad has also been instrumental in launching and growing Monmouth College’s TARTANS Rural Teacher Corps program over the last 6 years.

For her 2025 spring sabbatical, Dr. La Prad will join the RSC team by engaging in meaningful professional development and scholarly research. She aims to investigate the development and impact of Rural Teacher Corps, explore how Place-Based Education and positive narratives can support recruiting and retaining rural teachers, and highlight how strong teacher-leaders can drive rural economic development.

Dr. La Prad hopes this sabbatical will enable her to explore RSC’s Regional Hub Network and impact, as well as bring new ideas back to Monmouth College that could be adapted and shared.
