The Rural Schools Collaborative is proud to announce that Emily Meier is the organization's new Assistant Director for Community Engagement. Meier assumes her role on July 5, 2017 and will work out of RSC's operations office in Cambridge, Wisconsin.

As Assistant Director for Community Engagement Meier will oversee RSC's marketing, media and communications. In addition, she will coordinate the organization's new southern Wisconsin "hub," which will include developing a local micro-food hub and promoting Farm to School activities in conjunction with local school districts.

Emily has spent her career supporting nonprofits that connect people to place through innovative, hands-on learning experiences. Emily began her work with the Rural Schools Collaborative in late 2016, after serving as a place-based field educator and nonprofit administrator in Jackson Hole, Wyoming, and leading outreach and engagement initiatives as communications director for Madison Audubon Society in her hometown in south-central Wisconsin. Emily has a B.S. in Secondary Education from the University of Wisconsin-Madison, and loves all things Midwestern, states that start with the letter “W,” and nerding out about nature. When she’s not in the office or running her independent communications and design business, you’ll find her outside as much as possible: gardening, hiking, taking photos, or with a road atlas in hand, in search of the most beautiful rural route to anywhere.
