Cheryl's ninth grade students participated in a number of local experiences that helped them explore different career pathways in their region of west central Minnesota.

On Thursday, September 20th 9th graders from several surrounding school districts were invited to attend a Business and Industry Career Expo hosted by the Detroit Lakes School system.Over fifty different career vendors were present at the career fair.
Lake Park Audubon 9th graders were able to visit with the various career fields represented including:Agriculture, Food, and Natural Resources; Art, Communications, & Information Systems; Engineering, Manufacturing & Technology; Health Science Technology; Human Services; and Business Management and Administration.While attending the Career Expo, students were required to interview at least one presenter from each of the Career Fields.
The field trip helps to fulfill a part of the Personal Learning Plan Portfolio, which is a Minnesota State requirement to help students have a clearer pathway plan in place as they approach their senior year in high school.Instructors attending the Career Fair included; Jamie Nelson-School Counselor, Cheryl Hogie, and Connor Waselk-High School Instructors.PARA assistant, Candace Lunde also attended the event.
