We know that place-based education gives meaning to learning, strengthens the bonds between school and community, and instills pride in the cultures and histories of rural places and small towns. That's why we support classroom teachers across the country in creating these rich and meaningful experiences for rural students.
The Rural Schools Collaborative’s Grants in Place program is a modest grant program that encourages rural school district teachers to engage their students in place-based learning.
Our 2017-18 Grants in Place application is now open! Teachers can learn more about the simple application process and submit their proposals here.
Grant proposals for the 2017-2018 school year are due by April 15, 2017.
Please contact us with any questions about the application process, your status as a rural teacher, or for grant expectation clarifications.
