Ozark Rural School Rendezvous Held in Mansfield, Missouri

Rendezvous participants had a chance to tour the new Laura Ingalls Wilder Home & Museum in Mansfield, MO.

The Rural Schools Collaborative was proud to partner with the Community Foundation of the Ozarks and its Rural Schools Partnership to host the annual Rural Rendezvous in Mansfield, Missouri. The event was held on April 8th.

Noted author and rural scholar Paul Theobald headlined the event, which included a tour of the brand new Laura Ingalls Wilder Museum, place-based grants awards, Ozarks Teacher Corps recognition, and a visioning exercise led by South Dakotan and Rural Schools Collaborative facilitator Mike Knutson. More than 80 people attended the event including representatives from seven different states.

The Community Foundation of the Ozarks and the Rural Schools Partnership are key members of the new Rural Schools Collaborative. The Ozarks Teacher Corps was launched in 2009 and has an exemplary placement and retention rate of 95%.
