Sustainability Saturday: A Grants in Place Recipient in New Hampshire

Wentworth Elementary, located within 1500 feet of the Baker River, received a Rural Schools Collaborative Grant in Place award to help students become stewards of the river and to challenge them to make a difference in their community. The students conducted biomonitoring field research, including sampling benthic macro-invertebrates (under the guidance of the New Hampshire Department of Environmental Services) and presented their findings to be posted on the NH Fish & Game Department’s website. This project was a great way for the students to connect with their local natural environment.
