The Prairie Hill Learning Center’s green building incorporates passive solar heating, recycled and sustainable materials, renewable energy from solar and wind, rain water collection, and energy efficient heat pumps. The building’s systems are monitored by the elementary students with the goal of creating a net-zero energy building.

Activities like food preparation, healthy eating, and plant and animal care are incorporated into the curriculum.
