The Wimberley Independent School District plans to open the first One Water Campus in the state of Texas this summer. The building will collect rainwater and HVAC condensate to flush waste and provide irrigation for landscape and school gardens and onsite treatment and reuse system that will allow grey water produced by the school to be beneficially reused through a subsurface drip irrigation system. The project focuses on the conservation of natural resources, green storm water infrastructure, and open space preservation. The campus will save the school district $1 million in water costs over the next 30 years.
