The North Sanpete School District in Utah partnered with Siemens and the Rocky Mountain Power Blue Sky program to build solar arrays at three local schools: North Sanpete Middle School, Moroni Elementary, and Fountain Green Elementary. All three systems are designed to utilize energy conservation devices and net metering, where unused power generated can be fed into the power grid to offset costs. The schools’ solar arrays are producing 80% of their electricity, with savings of nearly $70,000 for the district.
