“Just because we are a rural school, just because we are small, doesn’t mean our kids can’t have the experiences that they deserve.” - Alyssa Howe

I graduated from the University of Wisconsin-Stevens Point with a degree in Interpersonal and Organizational Communication. After nine years working in corporate HR and training roles in Wisconsin and Indiana, I volunteered at local Perry County schools through Junior Achievement and led educational discussions on important career skills. Through that experience, I fell in love with teaching and the incredible rural schools in my community. I enrolled in Indiana’s Transition to Teaching program at Evansville University in 2020 and started teaching English Language Arts at Perry Central Jr. Sr. High School for 9th and 10th grade. Recently, I completed my Master's degree in English in Education at Indiana Wesleyan University and I am now the dual credit teacher for a variety of ELA classes.
