Clara Hellums-Jackson

My name is Clara Hellums-Jackson. I was born and raised in Dumas, Arkansas. I attended the University of Arkansas at Pine Bluff (UAPB) and later finished my psychology degree online at Southern New Hampshire( SNHU). I've been married to my wonderful best friend for 22 years. We have four adult children (3 daughters and 1 son) and two granddaughters. I teach second grade here in my hometown. My ‘why’ for teaching is to cultivate and mentor kids who look just like me as I was growing up in a low-poverty area of my state. I want to make a difference in kids' lives just as someone did in my life and to this day I am continually grateful.
