We are asking rural communities to share how COVID-19 is impacting them. Read below and see how music teacher Dustin Moe of Washburn, ND managed to perform digitally with his students.
I am a band and choir teacher in Washburn, ND. Once the COVID-19 pandemic closed down school I wanted to find away to stay connected with the kids I care so much about. So we started doing projects through my youtube account. Some of the projects were record yourself performing something, submit a video telling future students why they should be involved in band and choir, and probably the most popular I had a part of my choir perform a piece virtually. You can see that video here https://buff.ly/3bClD39
My superintendent shared the video on the school website and it got a lot of positive feedback. I am happy the kids are getting noticed for the hard work they do even when they are stuck at home. It is no match for learning in the school building but I glad the kids are still getting the recognition they deserve.
