Originally growing up in the Quad Cities, Erin found a new home at Monmouth College for her college experience and majored in Public Relations. She found herself back in the Monmouth area after graduation, embracing the small town lifestyle that she grew so fond of during college.
Beginning in the world of competitive swimming at a young age, it was in the cards for Erin to begin teaching swim lessons at her local public pool. This experience lit a fire of true passion for teaching children and community-oriented work. While swimming at the collegiate level, Erin continued to teach lessons to local children and quickly felt connected to the community.
Seeing rural education first-hand as a substitute teacher, Erin grew a strong interest in advocating for teachers and education. Erin believes teachers in a rural school district are true heroes and are building the foundation for our future. Erin is passionate about filling her cup with the work Rural Schools Collaborative is carrying out each and every day, sharing that message with our community and network as a leader of RSC’s communications.
On the weekends, you can find Erin enjoying time with her son and daughter at a farmer’s market, park, or swimming at the lake. Erin also loves to work in her flower gardens to create bouquets and arrangements to share with others.
