A native of eastern North Carolina, Jacqueline (Jacqui) joins the collaborative as a career high school educator and professional school counselor. She lives in Greenville, NC, which is also home to East Carolina University (Home of the Pirates), where she earned both her Bachelor of Science in History and her Master’s in Counselor Education. A self-avowed “country girl,” Jacqui is happily married to her high school sweetheart (and fellow East Carolina graduate), and they have two absolutely phenomenal young adults. Her daughter has officially begun “adulting” as a BSN Labor and Delivery Nurse.

Jacqui continues to enjoy her love of athletics, which began with her parents, as she cheers on her Dean’s List student-athlete playing collegiate football. In addition to watching football, Jacqui enjoys volunteering as a Board Member with the Jackie Robinson League Baseball League in Greenville, NC, participating with her public service-based organization Delta Sigma Theta Sorority, Incorporated, as well as baking, reading, and listening to the “History Chicks” podcast.

A lifelong advocate and cheerleader for students from diverse and underrepresented backgrounds, particularly in rural areas, Jacqui is a passionate believer in ensuring all students are presented with equitable and dynamic opportunities. She is thrilled to join the partnership as a representative from her alma mater, East Carolina University, within its Rural Education Institute (REI) as ECU continues to cultivate relationships with rural schools and communities in eastern North Carolina.
