At Maywood Public Schools, we started the meal service for our students and I thought the best way to do it was to deliver the food. We are taking the students a hot lunch and breakfast for the next morning all at once. We started with small numbers that were just 10-12 students. Now we are at 75 students that are taking meals. This has been great for our families. It has also given our staff a chance to continue to work. We have the kitchen staff, bus drivers, and paraprofessionals helping with the process. The families are grateful for the meals. They are appreciative of it. We have also worked with teachers for getting enrichment packets home to students with the delivery service. We have also used the delivery as an opportunity to stay connected with students throughout this tough time. It has been a great service provided by our school district.
