Teaches 4-5 year olds at Llangunnor Primary School in Carmarthen, South Wales
My name is Katie Evans, and I am a teacher in the reception (4-5 year olds) class at Llangunnor Primary School. Llangunnor School is situated in a rural area close to the town of Carmarthen, South Wales. It is a dual streamed school, where pupils are taught through both the medium of Welsh and English from Year’s 1 – 6. The children within the nursery and reception classes are taught solely through the medium of Welsh.
I am currently in my second year of teaching and prior to this I was a teaching assistant for 12 years within the Foundation Phase of another rural primary school. My experiences with supporting children’s development during my role as a teaching assistant and becoming a mother myself inspired me to train as a class teacher.
