Fun with video filters keeps kids engaged

I've been teaching online for a second job for a while now and they have filters similar to SnapChat that help keep the kids engaged in the lessons and can be used as an incentive. With switching to online learning, I decided that I will try to make it more fun for the kids to see what crazy wig or hat that I'm wearing. I still have a few in my back pocket yet, so I can't reveal all of them just yet. I chose the ski goggles because we were reading a story about some rescue dogs on a mountain searching for a lost skier. The other hats or wigs are just fun things to add in. I've also been throwing in some jokes, they aren't able to get the answer to the joke until the end of the video. Laughter is good for the soul. My hope is that it helps parents as well, teaching your child can be stressful so I hope this lightens the mood a little bit. However, my own children tell me they don't ever want to be seen with me wearing these in public. This is not a fun situation that we are living in but it is what it is and you have to make the best of it.
