My name is Lee Evans, and I am currently in my second year as a qualified teacher having recently completed my induction year. I am currently teaching in lower key stage 2, however throughout my teaching practice I had the privilege of teaching each year group within the primary setting. I live in a very rural part of South Wales situated between the Neath and Carmarthenshire valleys. I am a keen sportsman, with experience in many sports however my main focus being rugby. I am also a fluent Welsh speaker and love language.
I am currently the Literacy, Language and Communication lead at our school. I have been eased into this role as last year, my main focus was developing Welsh throughout the school and this year, I have been given the responsibility of developing Literacy as a whole throughout the school. I feel as though Glais Primary School holds a very close place in my heart as it is exactly the type of school I attended growing up. Old buildings with high ceilings, small numbers and a family environment amongst the children and the staff. However, throughout my education I was able to experience the other side of the scale in regard to schools. I attended Amman Valley comprehensive which, at the time, was the 3rd largest school in Wales in regard to the number of pupils. I hope this has helped understand my experiences and values as a teacher. Diolch.
