Dr. Nicola Mason is Dean of the Ernst and Sara Lane Volgenau College of Education at Morehead State University and Professor of Education. Dr. Mason graduated from MSU as an international student and completed her Ph.D. at the University of Kentucky. A South African-American immigrant, she believes that your roots are an essential part of your success story. She is a graduate of the Harvard Management Development Program and contributed a chapter in Rural Schools (Kendall Hunt, 2025). Dr. Mason is passionate about supporting rural communities through pre-service teacher preparation.
