As a rural teacher and once a rural student in the same community, I have noticed that students are limited to diverse views and experiences outside of their town. I would like to bring in experiences from the outside world to better help my students make connections between their community and the world around them. I also want to provide them with more access to resources and opportunities that are not normally provided to them. On the contrary, I love the small community support system I see among my students. They all know each other very well and love to see each other thrive.
