Steve Combs serves as the Director of Early College at CELL, impacting Indiana schools through the Early College High School initiative. He came to CELL with 27 years of experience in secondary education. Steve began his career as a high school social studies teacher and varsity boys basketball coach. He moved into leadership positions as assistant principal at the middle and high school levels. From 2010 to 2021, he served as a high school principal, launching the school’s Early College program in 2015. In 2014 and 2019 he was recognized as the IASP District 11 Principal of the Year. He holds a Bachelor's in Social Studies Education from the University of Evansville and a Master's of Education in Curriculum and Instruction from Olivet Nazarene University. He also trained at Oakland City University to obtain his Indiana Administrator’s License. When Steve is not working, he enjoys cheering on his three children in all they do.
