Sydney is an Iowa State University student graduating in May with a degree in Technical Communications and is interning with RSC during her final semester. During this period, she is learning valuable, real-world skills while advancing RSC's mission of promoting rural communities and their education.

Growing up, Sydney lived on the outskirts of Kirkwood, IL, a small town of less than a thousand people with a focus on farming in the surrounded areas. In primary school, she joined the local 4-H club and fell in love with the craftsmanship of rural communities. Sydney joined the club's leadership and served as Vice-President and President for two years.

In the past, Sydney has worked for Radio Monmouth and created news stories promoting local figures and events. She also worked alongside a small social media company known as Clear Profits, and helped create Internet posts and advertisements for local businesses.

After her internship at RSC, Sydney hopes to further benefit education and start her career drafting and editing textbooks. She values the importance of early-learning and creating opportunities for children. Sydney hopes to compose creative ways for students to easily and accessibly understand the material they are taught.

When she's not working with RSC or studying for her last year of university, Sydney can be found enjoying the arts and the calm that creating a piece brings.
