Through a keen focus on place, teachers, and philanthropy, RSC’s mission is to build sustainable rural communities. In order to hold our organization accountable and keep us driven towards our mission, action plans have been a long standing initiative taken on by the RSC Board of Directors since our launch in 2015. The board approved the following action plan for the year, under the leadership of current board chair, Brian Fogle:

2024-25 Action Plan—Approved by the Rural Schools Collaborative Board of Directors during their August 21, 2024 board meeting.

In Fiscal Year 2025, Rural Schools Collaborative will:

  • Enhance the development roadmap, adopted in FY’23, by continuing to track specific annual fund goals, prioritizing program funding, increasing reserve and endowment funds, and diversifying revenue streams through grants, strategic partnerships, and fundraising.

  • Strengthen and deepen Regional Hub Network engagement by deepening connections through:

    • Bringing the GRAD Partnership to three new Intermediary sites

    • Engaging in strategic communication/ storytelling with each hub over a 12-month span

    • Exploring opportunities for collaborative partner visits and working groups

  • Complete a Strategic Planning refresh session in 2025.

  • RSC will continue to strengthen the Rural Teacher Corps Network engagement by:
    • Auditing metrics - define & measure
    • In person convening at the 2025 Regional Hub Summit
  • RSC will launch the celebratory 10 year anniversary campaign.
