Good Sustainable Work in the Mississippi Delta

Delta Fresh Foods pioneered Farm to School programs in many Mississippi Delta schools, connecting growers from all over the region to local school district food service directors. Lasting partnerships have formed ensuring that fresh and local produce, such as sweet potatoes, greens, peas, and watermelons, have become a staple of children’s school lunches. Delta Fresh Foods have built nearly 30 raised bed school gardens to reconnect students to “real food.”
