Programs

As a collaborative network, the many partners of Rural Schools Collaborative make possible our diverse programs dedicated to building strong and sustainable rural communities.

RSC’s Regional Hub Network is made up of rural-serving organizations doing incredible boots-on-the-ground work with rural schools and communities. Having caring partners across the country means our core team remains small, but our impact is big - all of our programs are done in partnership with local leaders.

Grants in Place

Since 2015, Rural Schools Collaborative and its partners have awarded over $500,000 directly to rural teacher-leaders through the Grants in Place Program. The Grants in Place program provides rural teachers with a $2,500 award to engage their students in a place-based project that directly connects the students with their rural community. The Grants in Place rural teacher awardees meet as a virtual cohort to learn more about each other's projects, explore Place-Based Education best practices, and share lessons learned and celebrations.

Alongside our partners, RSC's Catalyst Grant initiative has awarded more than $600,000 to-date to seed and launch place-responsive rural teacher initiatives.
