Rural Schools Collaborative is grateful to work with outstanding partners like Teton Science Schools in our aim to build sustainable rural communities. TSS anchors our Northern Rockies Regional Hub, and their Place Network Schools initiative is a cornerstone of our work to promote place-based education in rural and small schools. We invite you to save the date for the TSS Place-Based Education Symposium on April 17, and consider submitting a proposal for a presentation.
General Information
What: Teton Science Schools’ seventh annual Place-Based Education Symposium, focused on education for a just, vibrant, sustainable world.
When: April 21nd, 2023 from 4:00 to 7:30pm Mountain Time; with the virtual Pre-Symposium poster session taking place asynchronously beginning on April 17, 2023
Where: In Person @ Teton Science Schools’ Jackson Campus with Virtual opportunities via Zoom and Mighty Networks
Symposium Format: The Symposium will have the following format: Pre-Symposium “Place-Based Education In Action”, Individual Presentations, Roundtable Dialogue, Keynote Address and Awards.
Symposium Themes: Within the broad umbrella of place-based education, the symposium will include presentation strands on:

Call for Proposals
Proposals and Deadline: Proposals are due Monday, February 27, 2023 @ 5 pm. To submit, please fill out this Google form. No more than two proposals per person.
Prizes: There will be People’s Choice Awards for best presentation, best roundtable, and best poster voted on by all attendees of the Symposium. Winners will receive a gift certificate!
