My name is Karen Quiñonez-Hernandez. I grew up in Miller, Missouri which is a small town in southwest Missouri where my parents owned a dairy farm. I graduated with my bachelor's of education degree from Missouri State University and have been teaching seventh grade math in Carthage, Missouri for five years now. My district has a Dual Language Program which allows me to teach math in Spanish to the students in the program. I understand the unique challenges and opportunities that come with learning in a rural setting, and I am dedicated to make math meaningful for all of my students.
