Sidney Freeman

Sidney Collins Freeman is a secondary science teacher at University Charter School in Livingston, AL. She holds a Master of Science in Forestry from Mississippi State University and a Master of Education in Biology from The University of West Alabama. Named the 2022 Alabama Conservation Educator of the Year, Sidney has an undeniable passion for the outdoors and conservation education. She actively seeks innovative ways to connect classroom learning with real-world applications, fostering a deep appreciation for nature and nurturing a sense of stewardship among her students through a place-based model of instruction.
