Dr. April D. Miller began serving as the Dean of the Volgenau College of Education at Morehead State University beginning July 1, 2022. Dr. Miller successfully served as Interim Dean during the 2021-2022 academic year. She has also served in the recent past as the chair of two departments in the college, Early Childhood, Elementary, & Special Education (ECES) and Middle Grades & Secondary Education (MGSE). Dr. Miller previously served as Assistant Dean in the Volgenau College, Department Chair (Special Education) and Associate Dean of the College of Education and Psychology at the University of Southern Mississippi, and Dean of the College of Professional Education at Texas Woman’s University. Dr. Miller began her career as a special education classroom teacher for students with mild to moderate disabilities. She received her bachelor's degree in teaching Special Education, Master's in Special Education Administration, and a Ph.D. in Special Education and Applied Behavior Analysis, all from The Ohio State University.
