Brandon Lucius is the executive director of the Arkansas Teacher
Corps, a program of the University of Arkansas that recruits, trains,
and supports new teachers to serve in high-need schools throughout
eastern and southern Arkansas. A native of a small farming
town in the Arkansas Delta, he taught 10th grade biology in the
Helena-West Helena School District and 9th grade Algebra 1 in the
Osceola School District prior to joining ATC. As an academic and
practitioner, Brandon has coached and developed hundreds of early
career teachers, reaching thousands of students across the state of
Arkansas. His team was named the University of Arkansas 2021 Outstanding
Team for their success with virtual coaching, retention, and teacher
growth during Covid-19. Brandon holds a B.A. in
environmental economics from Washington University in St. Louis, an
M.Ed. in educational leadership from Arkansas Tech University, and is
currently pursuing an Ed.S. in educational leadership from the
University of Arkansas. Brandon lives in Little Rock, AR
with his husband, Willie, and their two Jack Russell terriers, Leo and
Max.
